I Have A Badly Bruised Toe How Do I Treat It
I injured my toe, it hurt, swelled up and bruised. Put ice on it and strapped overnight badly. After 2 weeks looks like a lolly and has internal itch?
Weight bearing?: If you are able to bear weight on it and move it then it's probably not broken. An xray can tell for sure. A blood collection under the toenail can evolve into wonderful colors. If ithere is painful pressure under the nail then a simple procedure to drain can provide instant relief. Otherwise be patient and the itching is a sign of healing. Can you get a stone bruise on the corner of your big toe? How can I treat it cause it hurts real really really bad! :(
Might be easy to fix: Hard to tell from your description, but this could be a "subungual hematoma, " or a collection of blood under a fingernail or toenail after you've bashed it. Usually it's just a drop of blood, but it can really hurt! a doctor or nurse could show you how to drain the blood and relieve the pain (but not all nurses know how). Of course, you should be sure you didn't fracture the toe. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Buddy taping.: As long as the stubbing has not left your toe with some obscene angular deformity, either up/down or right/ left, your toe will probably do just fine with a minimal amount of help. The blood is from vessels that have obviously been injured. The key now is prevent further injury as well as stabilize the toe so healing can proceed uninterrupted. Splinting seems to work in most cases. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
