I Had Undergone Lavh With Bso Two Months Back Still Hurt Why
Having constant lower abdominal&lower back pain for 3+wks. Neg 4 uti. Had lavh/bso in 2013 d/t endometriosis. Pain worse w/everyday activities. Help!
So sorry : For approximately 7 to 10% of women who undergo the surgery you had for endometriosis, these women still have pain related to endometriosis despite having the surgery. I'm so sorry you're going through this. The best you can do is see your gynecologist again. Maybe a trial of Lupron (leuprolide) to see if it helps with pain? Good luck and i'm so sorry. ...Read more
Causes of elevated crp? Ct & other labs normal. Esr had been elevated, but down to 11, CRP is 8.2 lower abd pn, but has gotten better. Lavh/bso in '13
Ignore it: As a pathologist, i'm not impressed with the ability of a slightly elevated sed rate or c-reactive protein to provide useful information in the absence of clinical symptoms pointing to something fairly specific (polymyalgia rheumatica, for example). Many people who seem free of systemic inflammatory disease run high; the sed rate is famous for lab errors as well. ...Read more
No: Once the healing of the vaginal incision is complete (about 6 weeks) intercourse should be as comfortable as it was before the surgery. The vagina should be the same length and caliber. Painful intercourse could be due to a change in hormones resulting in vaginal dryness. This can generally be treated with lubricants or vaginal estrogen. ...Read more

I had a BSO done during my c section 3 months ago and I am still bleeding heavy to where I am changing pads every 2 hours and sometimes my clothes. The bleeding will stop for 2 days then start again. Should I be worried?

I'm a FTM who has had TAH & BSO but my vagina is still intact. I have a strange pretty solid lump inside my vagina and have to wait until Aug 18 4 GP.
Good to check: I do not think we can tell you exactly what the vaginal lump is at this time but that is a good decision to schedule a doctors appointment to get it checked out. Since your appointment is coming up fast you won’t have to wait long to find out. ...Read more
I am 42 y i did tah bso for endo 4.I am on anti estrogen therapy now I am having severe lower abdominal pain.Is it possible that endometriosis is back?
Possibly : I imagine that you had similar pains before surgery. It is unlikely to have endometriosis recur after the ovaries are removed unless they are giving you estrogen replacement. Endometriosis can cause scarring and adhesions along with the surgery, and some of these pains may have to do with old scarring but can be due to recurrence of endometriosis. ...Read more

Retained ovary?: When we remove ovaries, there is a possibility that a small portion of one or both ovaries is 'retained' and active. This is one good explanation as to why you are having temperature instability at the usual age of menopause. Also, consider that there are other causes of these sweating spells, such as thyroid or heart disease - go to your doctor and get checked out! ...Read more
I had a TAH/BSO 14 years ago, for the last 3 weeks I have had a tan color discharge, no pain/odor, what can it be?
Not from surgery: Usually this kind of discharge is caused by infection, foreign bodies in the vagina or tumors in the vagina. You need an exam. ...Read more
Why don't I have a urinary urge any more? Had a tah/bso/bladder lift. Now, since then, I don't know I have to go til it's too lste.
Overactive overflow: Possible that you have an overactive bladder where you go from no urge to an uncontrolled urge. Another possibility is that you bladder is overfilling. I would discuss with your doctor having a procedure called urodynamics. This is done in the office and can differentiate between the two. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
