I had chicken pox last week. Now I have some small bumps on the back of my head?

Probably not related: Once chicken pox goes away it is gone, so this is probably not related. It could be ingrown hairs from lying in bed. (adults often get pretty sick from chicken pox and have to stay in bed.) if it doesn't go away in a few days, see a dermatologist. ...Read more

Chicken Pox: Children sometimes have a prodrome of fever, malaise, headache, lack of appetite, and mild abdominal pain for 1 to 2 days, the rash typically appears first on a child's trunk, scalp, and face and consists of small, very itchy, flat red spots, which then turn into raised fluid filled vesicles, often described as looking like a 'dewdrop' that become umbilicated and cloudy and eventually crust over. ...Read more

2 yr old developed a few small facial bumps on face 1 wk ago- yesterday bumps spread to hands and legs, can he have chicken pox if he's vaccinated?

Bumps: The chicken pox vaccine isn't 100% effective so it is possible to get chicken pox even if you have been vaccinated. If it is taking a week for the bumps to spread it is unlikely that this is chicken pox. Here's a link to some good information about chicken pox: http://www. Cdc. Gov/chickenpox/about/overview. 7 mouth old is teething and drooling and I noticed a bump on edge of her lip and small bumps on her chin. Could this be chicken pox or cold sore?

7 mouth old is teething and drooling and I noticed a bump on edge of her lip and small bumps on her chin. Could this be chicken pox or cold sore?

Not Chicken Pox: The limited location of the rash/bumps make chicken pox unlikely. Chicken pox would also cause symptoms like fever and malaise. The rash could be a virus causing cold sores, but could also be from the irritation of drooling. None of these things would require treatment outside of local skin care, but watch to make sure that she is hydrated and that the rash does not spread to her eyes or throat. ...Read more

I see 4 bumps on my sons head could it be chicken pox?

I see 4 bumps on my sons head could it be chicken pox?

DON'T THINK SO: You didn't mention age, state of chicken pox immunization (if more than 1 year). Chicken pox usually comes on covered areas (centripetal distribution), e.g. Axilla, chest, trunk, but can start anywhere, face, scalp extremities. You can see all 4 stages of rash same time, macules (flat pinkish), papules (raised), vesicles and pustules, when full blown. If coming more, let his ped doc. Have a look. ...Read more

If: If patient has a new rash with a headache, then consulting their physician would be the next appropriate step. There are multiple, multiple conditions that can cause rash. The concern with rashes is that it could just be a skin process, but other processes must be considered. It is very difficult to diagnose a rash online, so a medical evaluation is typically warranted. ...Read more

Post-infection rash: It is not at all unusual to develop urticarial (hives) following viral respiratory tract infections. Your body does lots of different things with its immune system even when you just have a "cold", and some of these immune responses trigger certain cells in your body to release histamine and cause the itching and rash. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) orally is your best friend here, to settle reaction. ...Read more

Itchy bumps: Do you shave your body? If you do, shave in the direction of the hair using a single blade razor, to prevent shaver's bumps. It could also be a condition called hyperkeratosis follicularis, where the bumps are often seen on the outer arms, outer thighs and sometimes the face. Exfoliate your skin 3 times a week, moisturize daily. ...Read more

I need to know weather I need to go to the doctor tomorrow or go to the ER today? I have bumps that itch all over my body but I have had chicken pox 3 times already, I have diarehea and rotten egg burps I have a runny nose and a sore throat should I go

Hello.: Hello. I can't diagnose your condition. The combination of a rash, abdominal discomfort, headache, diarrhea, burping, sore throat and a runny nose could be caused by a viral infection. If you develop a fever of 104 or greater that is a reason to seek urgent care. If you develop difficulty breathing or swelling of tongue or throat that is an emergency. Because of diarrhea, you need to be drinking water to avoid dehydration. If inspite of attempts to remain hydrated; you develop a high resting pulse rate and you feel dizzy upon getting up, that means you might have still become dehydrated. If you can't remain adequately hydrated, you may need to be seen at an emergency room for intravenous hydration. Currently, you are not describing symptoms that would dictate a emergency evaluation. However, if your situation worsens, you may need to consider that option. I hope that you feel better soon. Take care. ...Read more
