See your MD!: Cellulitis is a very serious infection and if it is spreading you need to see your doctor as soon as possible to evaluate your response to treatment. Even though you are already on Bactrim, (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) I would have your doc re-evaluate your treatment to determine why the redness is spreading. ...Read more

Blood tests can be helpful. An elevated Uric acid level would be more associated with gout than cellulitis. An elevated white count could occur in both. An elevated ESR could occur in both.
