I had my HSG test done today and I was told both of my tubes are blocked, what are my options now what can I do to help me get pregnant?

If both tubes are blocked, pregnancy can only happen through IVF or if tubal surgery is performed and successful. Again, your doctor can advise you best about options. ...Read more

Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

There is a: Protocol to evaluation of infertility. Make sure you are ovulating (ovulation predictor kit) and you may consider a semen analysis. Having a medical termination does not affect the tubes. The main causes for occlusion are infection from pid and endometriosis. Good luck. ...Read more

Yes: As described, if your l tube is still patent then you can get pregnant, not to mention the r tube may be fully functional too. Ask you ob/gyn for any specifics to keep continuity of care, and they will be able to answer any questions more specifically since they examined and tested you. Best wishes. ...Read more

If I have scar tissue in front of my fallopian tubes and im having the HSG test done, would I still be able to get pregnant after ?

My wife, aged 28, was operated for an ectopic pregnancy 3 years back. After that, she has not been conceiving. We hadan HSG test done which came negetive. Pleasesuggest some treatment.

Negative?: After surgery for ectopic it is typical for one of the fallopian tubes to have been removed so i would be surprised if the hsg was, "negative". If the remaining tube is normal looking then there should still be the possibility of conceiving. You might also consider having your semen evaluated as well. Good luck. ...Read more

No anatomic abnormal: Don't understand your question completely but an hsg only shows patency of tubes which are required in order to get pregnant normally. I assume that your uterine cavity was also normal on the test. Ovulation and correct hormone function also required and hsg does not evaluate these. ...Read more

Can you get an HSG while pregnant? If you don't know you are pregnant and have HSG done can it hurt you or the baby?

Can you get an HSG while pregnant? If you don't know you are pregnant and have HSG done can it hurt you or the baby?

Careful with HSG: A hsg or hysterosalpingogram is a test done by radiology. A radio-opaque dye is inserted through the cervix and hopefully through the uterus and fallopian tubes. An x-ray of the pelvis is taken while infusing the dye. This is usually done to evaluate the patency of the fallopian tubes. An abnormal test may indicate that one or both tubes are closed. Do not have an hsg if pregnant. ...Read more
