I work the night shift. After i go to bed in the morning, i wake up within 2 hours to urinate. Then i can't get back to sleep. Any suggestions?
Drinking plan: Try planning to stop drinking about 2 hours before end of shift. Then be certain to pee before going to bed. Also, be sure sleep room is as dark as possible (blackout blinds / blanket over curtains/etc.) so do not get zeitgeber from sun to mess with your body's time clock. I find it really hard to get to sleep at night and spend hours lying in bed before I finally sleep but in the mornings I have to drag myself out of bed what's wrong?
Few possibilities: Sleep hygiene is a big field. If you can avoid fluids, especially alcohol, anywhere near bedtime. No naps. Dinner several hrs before bed. Same sleep time & wake time daily. Night routine: You can improve falling asleep by removing tv and computer from your bedroom. Stop use of these two items at least 30 min before sleep. Decrease your caffeine intake, avoid caffeine in the evening. Alcohol also inhibits sleep. Have a routine such as a warm bath or shower, soft music, light reading before going to bed. Every time in the morning i go to the bathroom and then I use the bathroom. Than 15 minutes later I have to go again really bad. When I am at school, i usually go to the nurse and she tells me to use the bathroom. Couple of hour's later I have to go again

It depends.: You can try to fall back asleep, but if you are still awake after several minutes try waking up and walking around the house, drinking warm milk or doing a little light housework or other work before returning to sleep.
