Normal response: Feeling tired after eating is a normal response. That is why some societies take a "siesta" after lunch. With a hemoglobin a1c of 5.3%, it is unlikely that your sugars are rising significantly after eating, but you could always check that. If you are on diabetic medication (other than metformin) that can cause hypoglycemia, your medication needs to be decreased as hba1c under 6% is too low. ...Read more

Are you sure?: It would be good to know if the premature atrial contractions increase in frequency after meals, or if they are more detectable (symptomatic) with a full stomach? Nausea : Nausea after eating or drinking may be associated with problem in the stomach as GERD, gastric ulcer, gastritis or bulimia. My advice is to eat small frequent meals and eat slowly, drink between meals rather than during meals, rest after eating with head elevation and avoid spicy food. Salivary Gland: We have hundreds of tiny salivary glands thru out our mouths. Some times the duct from one of these gland gets blocked and the saliva backs up and forms a tiny, clear bubble. After a while the bubble pops and it goes away. When you eat you make more saliva so that's why it comes back. This is a variation of normal and not a problem. No: Normal by definition is what happens to most healthy people. There are a lot of people who cannot tolerate spicey foods, though. Usually they get heartburn or a similar reaction. Your symptom is a little odd, but either way, you just need to avoid spicey foods. You could try antacid before eating these foods to see if it would help. ...Read more
