My dog, all up to date with vaccines, bit me on the side of my face, under my eye. Is this part of the danger triangle on the face, I'm worried.

YES: Good to be worried - dog bites, even if no risk of rabies, can introduce bacteria deep into the skin and cause very serious infections. At risk areas include the face and hands. If there was any puncture type wound AT ALL from this bite, you need medical care and likely antibiotics to prevent a face disfiguring infection from setting in after wounds are cleaned up. Infection: Your description seems mostly likely an infection which has started in your abcessed tooth, and has spread from the apex of that tooth into the soft tissue deeper in your face. The symptoms of pain on blinking and tenderness on touching the skin atop the bone at the bottom of the eye socket are typical. You need to see your family doctor, or a dentist to get started on the proper antibiotic. ...Read more

There may be an overwear syndrome where the lenses were worn for too long and the cornea has become irritated. It is usually better to not wear lenses if the eye is irritated and look for a cause. ...Read more
