Can be many thing: An obstruction from a tonsil, lymphnode, thyroid, etc. It could be food getting stuck in am out pouching called a diverticulum, and so on . A visit to an ENT dr would be helpful and he could look with a fiberoptic scope. ...Read more

GERD: Sound like having severe reflux, you might be having aerophagia that is swallowing air, that usually happens with anxiety, Is that a possibility with you?. You can also try a H2 blocker like zantac (ranitidine) or Pepcid at night in addition to Prilosec in the morning, if you still have the problem see a Gastroenterologist for endoscopy and PH monitoring studies that might shed more light into your problem. ...Read more
