Dry eyes: I assume your journey is by car? If so, your eyes are just getting dry, probably from the air conditioning blowing on your face. I wouldn't worry about the pimples. Some small bumps on the inner aspect of the lid are normal. ...Read more

Wear sunglasses: its not good to get a lot of sand in your eyes. Suggest you wear wrap-around or occlusive sunglasses at the beach. If sand does get in your eyes, rinse thoroughly with water or "Eyewash" which can be bought at a drugstore. ...Read more

Blepharitis?: Please make an appointment with your primary care physician or Ophthalmologist to rule out more serious problems. In the meantime, you can put warm wash cloths over the eyes and then use 1/2 baby no tears shampoo with 1/2 water on a Qtip or clean wash cloth to wash away any crusting around the eyes. It's possible : Sand has a lot of ground up minerals & rock, and who knows what else. If you get sand in your eyes, it's possible that some of the particles are sharp enough to scratch or even imbed the surface of the cornea or conjunctiva and result in a persistent foreign body sensation. Since : Since he has such persistent symptoms, I am glad that he is going back in to be seen. He may need a scope procedure to look into the sinus areas and see what the problem is.
