Compression: Since your symptoms are related to a position (lying down, sleeping) it is probably a compression neuropathy. This is probably due to the Sciatic nerve (it runs from your gluets down the back of your legs) being pinched while you were laying down. People typically refer to their foot or leg "falling asleep". It's possible: Most likely condition would be a pinched nerve. The nerves that supply the feet stem from nerve branches traveling from the leg. The "pinch" could be from the back at its root, but it an also be locally due to musculature. Another thing to be checked is circulation because if blood flow is hampered to a an area, it can cause pain and reduce function in the nerves. Get checked properly. ...Read more

Vasculitis: Vasculitis usually causes outbreaks of small red spots in the lower legs(petecchiae) but not blood pooling. Severe varicos e veins can,however, and can cause a postural drop in blood pressure producing lightheadedness on standing. Edema may occur,also. I wouldn't expect symptoms when supine.
