Hopefully wax: Many possibilities including wax, middle ear fluid, inflammation of your hearing nerve. You need to have someone look inside your ear preferably an ENT doctor. If there is no wax you need a hearing test. If you have something called "sudden deafness" then medication needs to be started asap. Get it checked: Eleven days of vertigo is not normal. Neither is having reduced hearing in one ear, especially if they began together. Yes: There are 2 possible explanations for why you have hearing loss. Fist of all, depending on how your mom cleaned your ears, she may have pushed the wax further in and created an impaction causing hearing loss.
