I Can Hear Swishing Sound In My Neck Turn My Head
So dificult: I can't really tell you matter of fact whether there are voices or not. I do take care of patients with problems and I tell them one comforting thing. If you are in my office asking me if what you are experiencing is abnormal, the chances are, you know what normal is. The most disturbed people I have seen argue that they do not have a problem, the people around them do.See 1 more doctor answer
I am hearing cracking sound in my neck without any pain it happens when turning head from right to left?
Sounds: Of crepitations without pain or swelling should not be a cause for concern. Indication of early degenerative joint that is consistent with advancing age
Not necessarily: Sometimes blockages within the arteries of the neck can cause "swishing" sounds. The medical term for this is a "bruit". In the neck this is most often from the carotid artery. The sound is created by turbulence in the blood vessel created when the blood is flowing past a blockage / narrowing. A very simple and non-invasive test for narrowing in the carotid arteries is a carotid ultrasound.See 1 more doctor answer
Sometimes when I'm laying down I'll hear a fizzing sound in the back of my upper neck by my head. Lasts a few seconds and doesn't hurt. What is this?
When I walk I have been hearing a swishing sound coming from the back of my neck/head area. Only hear when walking.
When I turn my head it sounds like grinding sand in my neck. It doesn't hurt, but I can hear it. Any idea what's wrong?
Neck "noise": This is a common experience for many people. It is usually associated with degeneration (think about arthritis) in the neck. This often results with normal aging but is also often the result of sports related injuries or the result of heavy manual labor. The problem can be worse when osteoporosis/osteopenia is present.
I hear a gurgling sound at base of head where my neck/head meet, like a small gurgle or small air bubbles passing through thin area when laying still.
Gurgle: Your esophagus traverses your neck and ends up meeting your stomach underneath the diaphragm on your left side. Air and fluid may gurgle, nothing to worry about. Stay calm and carry on.
I hear a rushing sound and feel a sensation of fluid in the back of neck going to the base of my head sometimes for years please tell me what this is?
No worries: I have heard this phenomenon described by many patients. It is nothing to worry about. I believe it to be coming from movement of the neck joints. These include joints between the skull and the first neck bone called the atlas, and a pair of facet joints at every disc level below that. That's a lot of joints that move, potentially resulting in a sound or fluid sensation.
I hear cracking sounds in my neck when I move my head backwards or sideways (normal movement) and in my back when I stretch it. It started two months ago?
Ligaments: More than likely these sounds are ligamental snapping and most likely are insignificant unless accompanied by discomfort or sharp pains. If you are otherwise fine, there is no need to consult an orthopedic surgeon or chiropractor.See 1 more doctor answer
Sometimes feel something moving inside of back head / neck and hear like a gerggly sound at the same time what is this from? Also daily headaches
Crepitus: The "gerggly" sounds coming from the neck are likely crepitus--created when two rough surfaces in the body come into contact—for example, in osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis when the cartilage around joints has eroded away and the joint ends grind against one another. It can result from trauma or repetitive stress/sleeping position. With headaches, can be problematic. Seek referral w/ pcp.
I have neck arthritus when I move my head side to side (ear to shoulder) you can hear my back crackle sound. What, normal?
I have had a moderate headache with white noise in my head and neck pain for 2 weeks. Also hear clicking sound in my head when walking. Please help.?
Tension type: Headache. There is no evidence that white noise can cause headaches. The symptoms you have presented are similar with tension type headache. The headaches are usually bilateral and diffuse and often have tenderness in the cervical muscles (neck) as well as the pericranial muscles. Rec.: see orofacial pain/headache specialist.See 1 more doctor answer
I feel dizziness all the time, I can't bend my head down or up I hear some fizzy sounds in my neck, I have tinnitus in left ear, burning in legs?
My ears don't pop when I do valsalva maneuver, I have (tinnitus, no hearing loss, clicking sounds when I swallow or move my head/neck) from last 6months?
Possibly be..: Etd (eustachian tube dysfunction), check with your doctor.
I have a humming in my right ear for 7 months, when you tap on my skull, neck or sinus area you can hear a hollow sound. What is this?
Not sure...: Humming or ringing in one's ears should be evaluated by your md. Both air and bone conduction tests will distinguish between sensory, neural, and conductive hearing loss. Although the "hollow" sound you describe sounds like a normal tapping sound, if you're concerned an evaluation would be appropriate.
Ringing in ear, can hardly hear it, muffled sounds, pain around ear, headache, neck/eye pain, little dizzy, radiates to other ear. What is this?
See your doctor: Without examining you I can not tell you for certain but I suggest you see your doctor.
In my left ear I constantly hear a swooshing heart beat sound. The only time it stops is when I press on the artery on my neck with my fingers, why?
Ear canal blockage: You may have ear canal blockage by wax that causes you to hear the temporal artery sound - get your ear checked by an ENT physician
I press my neck and hear blood flow in left ear, not pulsating. Not in my right. Though my right ear bruises up with sound. Afraid of some blood cloth.
See your Dr: While a 21yo male, if healthy, is unlikely to have "blood clot" issue, what you describe might be related to the vessels, and should be evaluated further to be certain. See your dr, might be able to clear issue with exam, or ultrasound or other test. Meanwhile, stop pushing on your neck ;).
I have had an ear ache for a week now, with a feeling of stopped up. I hear muffled sounds out of it feels like fluid in it. Have PND, clear throat al?
Ear Pain: Pain followed by muffled sounds is from an infection followed by mucus fluid in the ear. Try a vasoconstictive nose drops to the effected side, but the drops need to go to the opening to the middle ear. Pretend the drops are going into the ear and dropping to the floor. Use Clear. Ease™lozenges, one 4x a day melt in mouth between cheek and gums. This will open the ear drainage and reduce the fluid.
Sounds like water going deep inside in my right ear occasionally. Dull pain, no hearing loss, not constant. Also have a sore throat.?
Eustachian tube dysf: Sounds like a Eustachian tube dysfunction. You may try to "pop" the ears by closing your mouth holding the nose and blowing hard. Your ears should open up as you are forcing air into the middle ear space thru the Eustachian tube. Also get some Flonase and your nasal congestion will improve as well. Good luck and feel better.
