I Breathe Really Heavily Is This Normal How Can I Fix This
I'm a 40 yr old male. Prob. Heavier than I should be. Sometimes when i'm breathing normally, i find it hard to catch my breath. What causes this? Tks
Had an exam lately?: Being the worrier that i am, I am always concerned when people mention difficulty breathing. Your weight and being male may be risk factors for heart disease. Others are smoking, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, a family history of heart trouble, and inactivity. Any of these apply? Please get to your doctor for a full physical. Likely, you'll find the information reassuring. But get checked. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Hard to say: In early weeks, babies can go though a transition pattern called periodic breathing. This is the system figuring out how fast/deep to breathe during the varying states.(sleep/rest/feed/active) It can be fast panting or s;ow deep, there can be a short pause up to 10 sec. By 6 weeks this is usually less noticeable, but occasional pauses can remain. If you think your doc is clueless, get a 2nd opinion ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Maybe several weeks: Ribs are used when we breath, so each breath can cause discomfort with a rib injury. It can take anywhere from 3-6 weeks for a rib to heal. If the pain persists, see a dr. As an x-ray may be needed to see if you suffered a fracture of you rib, which can take longer to heal than a "pull or sprain." nsaids like Ibuprofen (if no allergy) can help as well. Best wishes. ...Read more
Had colonoscopy today w/heavy sedation. Feel like I'm breathing a little heavy or cant get a good full breathe. Normal after sedation?
interesting that you had a colonoscopy at such a young age. Were you having breathing problems before?
I would go to the emergency department and be evaluated. Your problems could be related to the procedure but also related to why you had the procedure. Do not wait and ignore it. ...Read more
I am 20 weight 92nd 5 ft 9. I recently started having shortness of breath after 1 hour of exercising. I got all the test and were normal?
Deconditioning: Most likely, if you have not been exercising for a while, you have become deconditioned. It will take some time for your body to adjust to exercise. Unless you are coughing or have other symptoms of exercise-induced asthma, I would encourage you to keep up the efforts. Start for 15 minutes per session, & gradually increase the number of sessions & duration to 30 min to get best results. Keep at it ...Read more
I do a 45 minute brisk walk and don't feel any pain or shirt breath but when I climb stair or lift any weight or any other physical thing I feel tired but become normal in just one minute ?
Burst vs. sustained.: Your walk is a prolonged, lower-level sustained activity, which is generally more tolerable than a quicker, or more intense burst of higher-level activity, such as walking up stairs or lifting heavy objects. But your response and recovery to this all sounds OK. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

See physician: Pain on breathing can be due to a viral infection of the lining of the lung(pleura) called viral pleurisy. 25wks pregnant. Is it normal to breathe heavier? I havnt noticed it bt a copule of friends hav pointed it out &my boyfriend complains wen im sleeping
Probably not: At 25 weeks the uterine enlargement is seldom sufficient to limit expansion of the diaphragm downwards with inspiration. If, however, people have noticed your breathing pattern changing, it would be wise to see your obstetrician and be evaluated, or your family doctor. Good luck and hope you have a great baby. ...Read more
