I Been Constipated For Over A Week Now So How Do I Get Everything Out
Depends.: Depends on your symptoms. Are you nauseated? Vomiting? On pain medications? Ever had this before? Any abdominal pain? If no to these questions, make sure you stay hydrated and start with a stool softener (colace) - avoid laxatives. If you're on pain medications, you should be on a stool regimen already. Do you have a primary care doctor? Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I've been really sick this past week. I had really bad diarrhea and now I'm starting to get better and I'm constipated is that normal?
I have been constantly constipated on and off for 3 weeks now. I get a feeling to go but the stools are hard to pass. Drink plenty of water too.
I am 8 weeks pregnant with serious constipation, I just strained really hard to get some relief. Now my abdomen is in excruciating pain.
This too should pass: NO pun intended. If you are severely constipated ,one might use a small fleets enema or glycerin suppository. This is just to get you going. I would ask your doctor if you can use miralax (polyethylene glycol) daily as a stool softner to make it easier for you to go. NO the pain should only be temporary. if persists see your gyn. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Gastro suggested merilax + citrucel for constipation. Worked so i stopped merilax. Now, after a week, straining and a get small stools today . Why?
Evaluation needed...: Miralax (polyethylene glycol) is lavage agent; citrucel a stool bulker. Best to seek medical evaluation--rule out metabolic causes of constipation (e.g. Low thyroid or adrenal conditions), distinguish slow versus normal transit constipation, consider rectal dysfunction that may be treatable with biofeedback, check for structural pathology or extrinsic impingement, or intermittent ileus (e.g. Pseudo-obstruction), more. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Can constipation cause infection Been constipated 3 weeks did bowel prep for colonoscopy and nothing helped now i have sore throat and cant get warm?
See Doctor!: 3 weeks is too long and you are auto-intoxicating your body with bacteria that will get into your bloodstream from the colon & hardening your stool. You may need to be evacuated either manually, or with stool softeners.3 weeks of food not passing & symptoms suggest, your immune system is affected. If you don't have a fever, you're probably not infected, this isn't normal. Seek immediate relief. ...Read more

I have polycystic ovarian diease and every now and again I will get pains so massive I can barely move and sometimes it causes constipation. Why? :/
Not PCOS: Pcos does not cause pain. By definition pcos causes small less than 1 CM cysts not big ones which can cuase pain. I would see your primary care doctor and discuss irritable bowel syndrome. I would also discuss with an obgyn to better understand pcos and to discuss other causes of pain. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

In the meantime your constipation has to also be addressed. If you have the urge but can't move your bowels, insert a glycerin rectal suppository or use a dulcolax suppository or a lubricated fleets enema gently.
