Lymph nodes: The lymph nodes usually enlarge as response to an infection in the vicinity. It lasts maximum 2-3 weeks and as the infection goes away (with antibiotics usually) the lymph nodes disappear. Outside this scenario, i would be worried and demand further investigation (ct is appropriate, a blood smear and CBC with differential, as well as a bmp with enzymes markers analysis) up to an excision biopy. ...Read more

Get checked: Swollen nodes may be residual from a viral infection. The most common bacteria causing enlarged nodes are strep and staph so sometimes going on an antibiotic effective against them will make them smaller which makes it less likely that something bad is happening. Even in cases of lymphoma blood testing is normal. I would see an ENT for further evaluation. ...Read more

Infection: You dont need to worry, but you should see your dentist again to get antibiotics if there is an infection. I assume you learned about the pericoronitis from your dentist? In that case either the area should be cleaned, the wisdom tooth removed, or excess tissue removed to prevent it from happening again. ...Read more

I had a cold and lost my voice my voice is back but lymph nodes are still swollen. It's been about 2 weeks should I see my doctor?

Wait another month: Even though the infection is over, the lymph nodes may not return to normal size for weeks or months. If the nodes remain enlarged > a couple of months after the cold, check with your PCP then. ...Read more

Swollen gland: Likely what you are describing is something called lymphadenopathy, which is swelling and inflammation of lymph nodes. This can lead to pain and can be aggravated by movement, depending on the location of the swollen lymph node. Generally speaking, most lymphadenopathy is caused by infectious processes. This could be viral or bacterial. If it is bacterial, the antibiotics can help.Try advil (ibuprofen) too. ...Read more
