I Am Severly Constipated Can I Take A Stool Sofner And A Laxative Together And If So Witch Would Be Best Together
If i take lyrica (pregabalin) and i feel constipated can I take a stool softner to help with that?
I take miralax (polyethylene glycol) sometimes, and i was wondering what can I do when it is time for a colonoscopy, for people who are used to stool softeners?
I am taking trazodone and very constipated what can I take with it so I have a regular bowl movement?
Constipation common: There a lots of things you can do relieve constipation. To start, a diet rich in cereals, vegetables and fruits should help. You can take psilium husk to increase roughage. Miralax (polyethylene glycol) powder is now available over the counter which is quite effective for constipation. However please call your physician and seek advice as a first step. ...Read more

Can i take valium, synthroid, (thyroxine) and percocet with Dulcolax sensitive stomache for women for constipation? I am afraid to mix and i only this laxative available and I have not defecated pain medication.
Yes: However, am concerned about combination of valium and percocet. Both are sedating and can mix in a deadly cocktail. Very worrisome. Percocet is the cause of constipation--any way to cut back or talk to doctor about alternative pain control measures? Increase fluids, fiber, consider MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) which is gentle and effective too. Dulcolax tends to cause cramping; less so with miralax (polyethylene glycol). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Strain every time I have a bm constipated all the time took enema fri and today im constipated a gain what can this be and what should I do..
Depends: Important basic principles for bowel health include drinking enough liquids, eating enough fiber, and being active. The most constipating foods can be cheese and starchy foods. It will be helpful to prevent constipation than to strain. Bran, fruit, and seeds can be added to your usual fare, and increase these steadily until all is right for easy bowel movements. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Can you take bisacodyl and magnesium citrate together? I am a 90lb girl and dont want to overdose but struggle with severe constipation
See answer: It is ok to take it once assuming you don't have abdominal pain, nausea/vomiting, blood in stool, or other alarm symptoms that would be best evaluated in an ER setting before trying those meds. Another option is to use a fleets enema. Increase your water/fiber intake as well. You may need to see a gastroenterologist for your severe constipation. I hope you get better soon! ...Read more
Is it safe and non-habit forming to use Metamucil daily? I just had an impacted bowel and don't want it again. Thank you!
Can i take magnesium citrate for constipation if I do not have a colon? I have a j-pouch from and anastamosis.
What do I do with repeated constipation? I have been to a gastrointestinal specialist and he prescribed polyethylene glycol 3350, nf powder to be taken twice daily. I see some difference but every time i eat some fast food, i get back to the constipation.
It : It is very important to keep track of the foods that are constipating for you so that you can avoid them. Many people have difficulty eating highly processed foods which are unhealthy for the colon. They don't just cause constipation, but red meat and processed foods have also been implicated in colon cancer. Unless directed otherwise by your GI doctor, you should be eating plenty of fruits and vegetables and drinking lots of water along with your polyethylene glycol. If you become constipated with fast food - avoid it or order healthier options such as a salad with lots of healthy veggies. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I ate a lot more than usual tonight. I take miralax (polyethylene glycol) and dolcolax but eill I be constipated? Or will I be ok?!?!
Tough to tell: Just because you ate more does not mean you should be more constipated. It depends on what you ate. Also, at 18 years old, you should not be so constipated to take laxatives/stool softeners daily. Talk to your doctor about this if you have not already. Best wishes. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I take 600mg gabapentin 3x a day and I have not taken a dosage yet. I am in a lot of pain and would like to know if it is safe for me to take a 5mg percocet?
Should be: When multiple medications are needed for the same reason, especially pain, it's advisable for a single doc or dr group to be managing them all. This helps ensure that potential interactions are tracked which improves safety. That being said, it's common for percocet and gabapentin to be prescribed and taken together, and the combination is generally safe but can be quite sedating. ...Read more

I am badly constipated. Miralax and senna do not help much. Can I take bisacodyl and docusate at the same time?
Yes.: Docusate is a stool softener, bisacodyl is a stimulant laxative, miralax is a polyethylene glycol laxative. Other options would include magnesium citrate which is a liquid bottle sold over the counter, or milk of magnesia. Other consideration would be to work from the other end with an enema like a Fleets enema. Sometimes these can be helpful for severe constipation. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I have a problem with loose bowels, so should I start taking a probiotic that is supposed to help?
Depends on cause: Constant diarrhea needs to be evaluated. It may be related to a food allergy, inflammation, or infection. First rule out serious disease before self-treating. Also, not all probiotics are alike and taking the right one can make a difference. Look for at least 1 billion colonies and at least several different strains of bacteria. ...Read more
