If you missed any pills, or were late taking them, this could also be a possibility. Also consider taking a pregnancy test even though the odds of this are less than 1% if you take your pills as directed. Other causes of abnormal periods are increased stress/anxiety, extreme weight fluctuations, hormonal imbalances (including thyroid disorders).
