Also an ENT exam would not harm at this stage trying to understand early if there any specific anatomic abnormality that might limit your ability to continue singing/acting at a professional level. You want to lose it?: I'm thinking you mean the best way to get it back. If so - give it total (TOTAL) rest for several days. No whispering or mouthing words at all. Writing is the safest, but even then try not to be saying the words in your head. All those things pull on the vocal cords a bit. I did it personally and it works best if you don't do them.
