Not necessarily: Palpitations are a sign that the heart is getting more stimulation from the adrenaline surges that happen in anxiety or panic attacks. Very normal physiologic response. Prolonged surges over years could affect the heart, but at 21 years of age it is very unlikely. Heart flutter: Heart flutter is from a rapidly beating heart or from arrhythmia. It is normal with even mild exercise, but should not cause chest pain if it is normal. Indirectly, yes.: Water pills can cause dehydration which may make the blood pressure drop and the heart rate rise that you might sense as heart palpations.
