All steroids (derivatives of cholesterol) work by altering gene expression, worsen blood glucose control (Diabetes Mellitus) & suppress immune system functions (can thus aggravate infections). Often fairly safe short-term if young & apparently healthy, yet can also backfire. ...Read more
Cortisone is a naturally produced hormone in the body, produced by the adrenal glands. It is often used as a potent medication for inflammatory disease. In serious cases, it is a "wonder" drug, and can be life saving. However, long and continuous use can cause many serious and uncomfortable side effects. Hydrocortisone is a topical skin variety and much ...Read more

Are the any creams that have Triamcinolone Acetonide BP 1 mg
Econazole Nitrate BP 10 mg
Gentamicin Sulphate BP 1 mg
Sold in America?
Don't think so: Haven't heard of that combination cream. However, individual creams can be prescribed if needed, and a patient can use a little bit from each tube of cream, to treat a particular rash if her doctor feels that such medications are the proper treatment of that rash. Usually, there is more than one type of cream able to treat a rash, which means that alternatives should also be available in the US. ...Read more
Potentially.: Applying a strong steroid cream for too long on thin skin (face, groin, underarms, etc.) will eventually cause thinning of the skin (atrophy) and eventually stretch marks (striae). That's why dermatologists cringe when they see strong steroids prescribed for areas that are too sensitive to handle them properly. Strong creams should be used only on thick skin for a couple of weeks at most. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
You can, but...: ...Whether it works will depend on the cause. If it's due to a yeast infection, for example, the effect will be temporary at best. Still, it won't hurt to try, and if it doesn't work, see your doctor and find out the cause. And by the way, "maximum strength" is a marketing slogan; 1% hc cream is actually not very strong at all - it's just the maximum you can buy without a prescription. ...Read more
Used low dose steroid suppositories 1-2x a week for a few years, and used steroid cream on legs 2x week for few years. would these cause high cortisol?
Not using now?: Hi. It sounds as if you are no longer using glucocorticoid (GC) suppositories or topical GC cream. Such treatments can SUPPRESS your own cortisol production. If you're not on those treatments anymore, your cortisol being HIGH is unrelated to the fact you used those treatments. Was cortisol hi in a 24-hr urine? People can develop Cushing's from taking a lot of GC medication. See an endocrinologist ...Read more
If anabolic steroids increase estrogen(e) levels, will boosting testosterone naturally(ie taking vit d, lifting weights, abstinence) also increase e?
Your "natural": Methods do not "boost" testosterone. That's determined by endocrine feedback mechanisms and other factors. Any increase in testosterone will lead to minor increases in estrogen due to hormone conversion, but they are insignificant and meaningless except in people who take excessive exogenous testosterone. Don't get your medical information from friends, tv or internet scams. ...Read more
They may: I cannot find any studies of this issue, but did find several articles indicating that there are concerns that there may indeed be some interactions, especially in adolescents and young adults. WHY are you concerned about anabolic steroids? Are you using them for body building, and if so, are they prescribed? Talk to your health care professional and/or pharmacist asap as this may be harmful. ...Read more

Are stridex maximum strength pads good for preventing breakouts, as well as healing scars and reducing hyper pigmentation if used daily?
Salicylic acid -acne: Salicylic acid is a very reasonable daily treatment for acne management. It is unlikely to do anything for scarring or for hyper pigmentation. There are some topical skin lighteners that can help with this. Laser treatments can also help with scarring and pigment. Some benefit from a more robust regimen for acne (retin a; benzoyl peroxide; facials/microderm; pdt; laser; etc...) -get help if needed. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Choice is Yours: The best therapy to treat hypogonadism is that which you can afford and are willing to take for a long time. Testosterone injections are inexpensive but does require a shot. Androgel, axiron, Fortesta & testim are creams/gels/sol'n but expensive. Compounded creams are less so. All can render you infertile. So if you want to maintain sperm production, you'll need to consider Clomiphene or hcg. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Hi docs, would beclomethasone, dipropionate, neomycin sulfate and miconazole nitrate cream helps in removing scars mark?
Just the opposite : Dexamethasone is not an anabolic steroid. Taking it without a doctor's prescription will cause serious health problems, including cushing's syndrome. The person will gain abdominal weight, lose muscle from arms and legs, the immune system may become suppressed. Etc. Not desirable. Patients taking this drug do so for other health problems and also deal with some side effects. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
