Her left arm trouble suggests nerve damage. Please have her doctor refer her to a Neurologist if the doctor cannot diagnose the cause.

Reflexes become slowed in hypothyroidism, but should remain symmetric, so it should not occur in just one arm. Fatigue: I wouldn't think that your HYPOthyroidism would cause you TROUBLE to sleep. Actually, just the reverse, you'd be expected to have trouble staying awake. But in terms of numbness in the hands and arms...that's possible. You'd know if that were the case simply by asking your doctor what your latest numbers are. Correct meds: Are you getting the correct meds? Check free T3 and reverse t3. Ft3 should be in upper range and rt3 in lower range. If your ratio is off, you may need Armour Thyroid or t3, and synthroid (thyroxine) would be the wrong med for you. Also check spot urine iodine to make sure you are not deficient. ...Read more
