Doctor insights on:
Hypoechoic Nodule Ovary
More age dependent: The types of ovarian cancers one can get depends very much, nearly exclusively, on the age of the patient. Thus a nodule in a 21 year old means a very different thing from one in a 65 year old. Average age for diagnosis is 63. If you're asking the question for yourself, most common ovarian cancer at your age is a germ cell or stromal tumor. Most important is to get the advice of your doctor. ...Read more

I have a complex cyst in my ovary measuring 6.5x8.9x4.5 cm with two nodules with the bigger one measuring 1 cm. Should it be removed and how?
Recommend excision: Complex cysts should be surgically removed in the large majority of cases as the concern is whether the cyst is benign or malignant. The large majority are benign but there aren't any good tests to make that determination without actually removing the cyst. You should consult a gynecologist and he or she may refer you to a GYN oncologist to do the surgery. A laparoscopy may be appropriate. ...Read more
two solid-appearing nodules in the right ovary measuring 2.6 x 2.2 x
1.9 cm and 4.1 x 3.5 x 2.8 cm. These are isoechoic to the ovarian
Many possibilities: W/o seeing the pictures, ur description isn't sufficient 2 make diagnosis. Ultimately, u'll have 2 talk 2 ur gynecologist. Given ur age, there's a gd chance d nodules r benign; endometriosis mass (endometrioma) & dermoid cyst/tumor r likely. However, other tumors (b9 & malignant) r possible. https://iame.com/online/ovary/ovary.html for more info. Need Doppler, time. HealthTap Prime may b helpful. ...Read more
I have a complex cystic structure on right ovary with mural nodules what does this mean it is 10.7 CM .
My doctor found 3 "nodules" around my ovary. What type of ultrasound will I need to see what it is? It hurts very bad
Painful ovarian mass:
2 types of pelvic ultrasound: transabdominal (like in the picture) and trans vaginal with a probe that looks a little like a long tampon. Both are safe and not disagreeable for patients. Trans vag gives fine detail but less area.
Many other ways to eval. ovarian masses, including MRI and occ. CT. Laparoscopy is done when tissue is needed for biopsy or other surgical intervention is necessary. ...Read more

What is the left adnexa? "exohytic cyst w/ solid mural nodule in the left adnexa likely arising from left ovary" what is this? And what does it mean?
Unclear: The left adnexa is the area on the left side of the uterus which is where the left ovary is located. It's not entirely clear that that mass is. Your doctors are probably not sure either. They may suggest a few things such as more imaging, repeating the imaging in a few months or a diagnostic laparoscopy. Hopefully it's not anything serious. Good luck. ...Read more

Whats a exophytic cyst w/ a solid mural nodule in the left adnexa likely arising from left ovary mean?No blood flow noted in solid nudule 2.1x1.6x1.4?
In a new state. Autonomic dz is pots. Pit, liver, ovary adenomas. Thyroid has new solid nodules and nodes. Only bx'd node. ?Ask for excision?
Thyroid nodules: I know more about pots than thyroid but in general if you have a node biopsied, if there is not diagnosis, they will likely biopsy nodule to determine whether to excise. If there is a diagnosis based on node biopsy, that will lead to best recommendation. Decision depends on the pathology and extent of tissue involved. If hyperthyroid, that can explain what was diagnosed as pots, as not pots. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
