Swollen face and fever after dentist work what can be the problem?

Swollen face and fever after dentist work what can be the problem?

Possible infection: Both swelling and fever are classic indications of an infection. However, since we have little information to go on as to what treatment you had and for what, we can't know for sure. The swelling could be from the injection and the fever could be unrelated to your dental treatment. However, since it might be an infection, you need to see your dentist asap for an evaluation.

Probably not sinuses: Sinusitis rarely causes a swollen face. The combination of facial swelling and nasal congestion is fairly typical of allergy. I would definitely consult an allergist.

My 9month old baby has two sticky eyes and a swollen face on one side this morning? He has just started nursery.

Contact Peds ASAP: Eye infections in babies can be very serious, and swelling in the face could indicate cellulitis (infection spreading into the face). Please contact your pediatrician immediately regarding this, as antibiotics may be immediately necessary. Also take note that this can be highly contagious, even to adults.

My daughter has had a terrible cold, diagnosed with strep and now has swollen face on one side. Could the swelling be mumps?

It would be more: Likely to be related to the strep as mumps is from a different organism. Is swelling is significant or impacting her airway - please let her doctor know. Take care.

Swollen face: It could be swelling after your surgery or you could be developing another cyst. Try applying warm compresses to the area and if it dose not improve in a few days f/u with the ent. When was your last dental check up? You may also have a secondary infection in your gums.

Treatment: It depends on how it is being treated... has your dentist started root canal therapy or given you antibiotics? Without care the abscess will not heal on its own.
