They prescribed me hydroxyzine. I didn't take it when they and did you experience any side effects?
I've been itchy for ATLEAST a month now, its mainly behind and between my thighs. Dr. prescribed hydroxyzine doesnt work. Please help idk what to do.
Yes: Both are quite sedating, but Doxepin is the only one in my experience that causes weight gain, especially at doses 50 mg and above. If you start packing on weight , ask your doctor to try something else. Expect dry mouth, blurred vision, and possibly constipation, all of which can be treated with low dose bethanecol if necessary. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Is hydroxyzine safe to take daily? I use it for occasional panic attacks, but have been taking it daily for the last 3 weeks, due to stress.
Am taking atarax (hydroxyzine) for anxiety even though it was not prescribed for that. Is this dangerous?
No.: It is not the most effective medication for anxiety, but it is among the safest, with very few side effects. You should, however, try to take it on an as-needed basis, rather than routinely, and keep the dose low, preferably 75mg per day at most. Above all, you should see a doctor, preferably a psychiatrist, to discuss ways of preventing the need for hydroxyzine. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Hydroxyzine made me feel lightheaded every time i stood up or took a deep breath the day after, long after it should have been out of my system, why?
Can be long : Hydroxyzine is not supposed to be a sleep aide and when used for such is prescribed off label due to sedating side effects. It can last a long time and does not allow you to go through your natural sleep cycles so even though you sleep you feel tired and hung over. The new sleeping pills do not have this effect and are shortacting and some are generics and inexpensive. ...Read more
I am taking Effexor (venlafaxine) XR and hydroxyzine can I take oxycodone- acetaminophen if I haven't taken hydroxyzine in 24 hours? Any interactions??
Can hydroxyzine help with the head pressure symptom of a panic attack? I'm also taking Zoloft (sertraline) 50mg. Is this a good combination?
It can!: Hydroxyzine has a sedative effect, generally a very strong one depending on the dose. That is, the more Hydroxyzine the greater the sedation. Combining medications is always a process that deserves attention because you want to avoid interactions. In this case there is no concern with zoloft (sertraline) and hydroxyzine. However, you want to be careful with metoprolol and zoloft (sertraline). ...Read more
