Over time, the 3% medication can change the balance of microbes in your mouth & you can develop an overgrowth inbalance of candida albacans (yeast). Not sure about 1%. BV symptoms are mostly odor and discharge, without irritation or itching. Yeast mostly causes irritation and redness, with scant white discharge, or none, and little or no odor.
