Hydrocele Surgical Wound Healing Time
Hydrocele surgery 6mo ago. Testicle bigger than other. If it does NOT glow with transillumination test, is it just healing, or did hydcle return?
Hydrocele repair: After the varicocoele has been surgically removed there should be more space in your scrotum so when you put a strong light source behind your scrotum more light should come through because some obstructing material- the Varicocoele- has been removed from the scrotal sac. It doesn't glow!
Wound healing is a field of study in which a person looks at factors that helps wounds heal and factors that are harmful to wounds trying to heal, in order to find the best treatment for each wound. Wounds can be from infections, surgeries, accidents, etc... Poorly healing wounds can occur where there is inadequate blood circulation, such ...Read more
Sorry there isn't: No herbal or medication treatment. Hyrdocele fluid can be aspirated with a needle ; sclerosant such as tetracycline injected into hydrocele space, but results are unreliable, hydrocele more often than not recurs ; there is risk of infection. Surgery is the bay to go.See 1 more doctor answer
I'M havin open wound healing of pilonoidal cyst after surgery. Its been 7 mnths but it hasn't healed. Its red on surface, pains a bit and still bleeds.
Sorry, but only -: -Ur surgeon who is familiar with Ur case & with the procedure that was done. This is a question 2 ask of him/her.
Yes: Needle aspiration is possible, however the fluid will re-accumulate and we tend to minimize this procedure to avoid infection. But it is possible. Discuss the risks and benefits of this with your doctor before proceeding.
Recovery time after hydrocele surgery?? can I go back to worj after 1 week?? any prob with sex drive??
Recovery: If your recovery is uncomplicated, you feel well off pain medications and no heavy lifting at your work...it's possible you could return at one week.
Variable 1 - 6 weeks: Recovery time depends upon patient age + technique. Babies and young boys recover within days, surgery is simple, quick + relatively atraumatic. Adults take onger, 4 - 6 weeks + occasionally longer. In so called "lord procedure" hydrocele sac is rolled up + retained needs longer recovery than the more simple "bottle procedure" where sac is partiall excised and sutured round back of testicle.See 1 more doctor answer
About a month: Depends on the absolute approach and technique, but you should be fully recovered and functional by 4 weeks. Your surgeon can give you specific restrictions and expectations, and is your best source for this question. Good luck.
Urologist said my hydrocele can go away by itself. How is that possible? Also, sometimes it is bigger at times. Dsnt hurt. Dr didn't recmd surgery
Hydroceles: A Hydroceles is a collection of fluid surrounding the testicle and is the most common cause of scrotal enlargement. Caused by trauma or infection/inflammation, as the primary process resolves the swelling may go down. Hydroceles can vary in size over time. Surgery is indicated only when they are painful or bothersome.
After hydrocele surgery I didn't bath! Only one time 11 days after without soap. I had sex is there a chance my girlfriend will get an infection?
I had Hydrocele surgery 4 days agoall ok I think but no follow up appt. Still swollen/sore but it's nothing majorWould surgeon visit be waste his time?
Never!: If you are concerned about your health it is never a waste of time! You go get followed up! Even if the surgeon is a jerk, which some of us are, it is your health and never be concerned about wasting our time. Some of the sickest people I have every seen waited almost too long because of that concern. I would rather see you 100 times to reassure you than have you die because you worried about me!
Had hydrocele surgery 2 weeks ago for the second time. 2 days after drain removed, the tail of epididymis is tender and larger then usual. Infection?
RU sure epididymis?: Not unusual for scrotum 2b tender 2 days after drain removal. Wonder why you think epididymis is tender ; larger. Tunica vaginalis, which is wall of hydrocele is attached to epididymis and bound 2b tender for a while after surgery/drain removal. Best to discuss with your urologist.
Hydrocele medication: Your surgeon will give you pain medication to take as needed after the operation. He/she will decide if you need any antibiotcs. Many patients do not, but sometimes antibiotics are given if the surgeon decides to leave a drain in for a day or two to limit swelling. You will also likely have a scrotal support. You will be given a full list of intructions with prescriptions after your operation.See 2 more doctor answers
