Post-op pain common: Talk to your surgeon! tell him/her what's going on. You're the best judge of how much pain you can tolerate but let your surgeon know. S/he should have warned you about post-op pain as well as potential complications. Yes it is...: During the surgery, the testicular cord (of which the testicle is at the end of in the scrotum) is manipulated extensively. This can result in that uncomfortable feeling/pain of getting struck in the testicle.
