YES: There are multiple drugs for arthritis cheaper than humira. Pills like methotrexate, sulfasalaxine, Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) and Leflunomide can be used alone or in combination. There is also an injectable form of Methotrexate that can sometimes be more effective. Prednisone can also be taken. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatories can be used. Humira (adalimumab) hurts: Humira (adalimumab) is a great drug in terms of its effectiveness for arthritis, uveitis, inflammatory bowel disease and other autoimmune but it hurts everyone who gets this medication. I have spoken to Humira (adalimumab) drug reps about this since i prescribe it to kids. There is something in the formulation that causes the stinging. Try warming med to body temp under your arm for 10 min before injecting. It helps some. ...Read more
