I had a lap.Gallbladder surgery I have 13-24 surgical clips in my liver, is it a normal thing to have in after that surgery?#nqlu in laproscopic surgeries they cannot use stiches so I have been told since, they only staple.
It : It is normal to have clips in the area below your liver known as the gallbladder fossa after a laparoscopic cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal). 13 or 24 clips is a lot, however. Normally, most surgeons will have 2-3 clips on what is called the cystic duct stump and on the cystic artery, making 4-6 clips normal. That being said, every patient and every case is different. It is possible that you had what is called "aberrant anatomy" such that you either had extra blood vessels that required more clips, or that you had some large venous sinuses under your liver that were bleeding during surgery and required more clips. If you are more than a few weeks out from your surgery and are doing fine then this probably isn't anything to worry about. In most cases, the complications associated with having your gallbladder removed laparoscopically occur almost immediately after surgery and are readily apparent. There are some less common problems, such as narrowing of your bile duct or occlussion of your hepatic artery that can show up later. If these things happen, they do tend to be associated with cases that are considered more difficult. If you are concerned you should ask the surgeon who did your procedure to explain to you how your surgery went and if you should be concerned, but i suspect you have little to be worried about. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers
I had surgery for an incisional hernia after bladder surgery. Open surgery with large mesh. Will I ever be able to lift weights again?
Insurance denied my spinal cord stimulator cus they said it was experimental. I need help appealing. If i had surgery on neck & lumbar, would i need revision surgeries later in life? I'm 24 yrs old.
Good: Except for a very few conditions in a 24 year old, someone putting a spinal cord stimulator for any reason is likely way overdoing things -- and then after you can't even get an mri, etc. And will most likely not have any lasting change in your symptoms. What is the diagnosis for this? I see you have fatigue, anxiety, and back pain -- but those are absolutely not reason for scs, be very careful! ...Read moreSee 6 more doctor answers
Post cavus surgery-3 mo after surgery arch dropped. Big toe stuck-bones jammed on xray. Surgeon "never be as good as pre surgery & orthotics" Can fix?
Post- operative: healing and rehab takes one full year with any reconstruction. After that point, if patients that are still having pain, return of deformity or non-optimal results I would discuss possible surgical intervention. If you would like a 2nd opinion for a review of post-surgical xrays and possible treatment options currently and/or future treatments, please consult me! ...Read more

Can't tell here: Would need much more detailed information. Where is the mesh? How large is the mesh? Where was the mesh placed and in what layer? Why is the mesh being removed? Infection history? What are the other medical conditions? Only your surgeon can tell you what surgery will be needed and how long surgery may take. ...Read more

I want a surgical tattoo removal. Its on my belly not big around 2x3 inches? Would it leave scar even with cosmetic stiches?
Yes: We always heal with a scar the difference is a cosmetic closure makes the scar more difficult to notice. It is important for the surgeon to be sure they can close the skin once they cut out a 2x3 tattoo. It seems that they should be able to but expect to see a scar. ...Read more
My grandson 14, is having scoliosis surgery (bars surgically put in his back) any pain killing remedies?
For Sure: After this type of surgery any of the commonly used narcotic based medications can be used. This would similar to using pain medication after any type of significant broken bone. Had shoulder surgery, 6 anchors in labrum, surgery went well. Doc said 'Never Again' to return to weight training. Why not if i heal well in 1 yr ???
Ask your doctor...: You should ask your doctor. Having said that, weight lifting put your shoulder at risk of developing premature wear and arthritis. Shoulder is not a weight bearing joint and is not anatomically designed for that purpose. Putting large loads across your shoulder puts you at risk of further cartilage problems with your shoulder. ...Read more
