Huge Painful Herpes On Back Of Thigh
Are herpes more painful then they are itchy? And can they be on the top part of your thigh like by your knee and a above?
YES & YES: Herpes simplex, both oral and genital, are among the few rashes that HURT. Although most cases of Herpes occur around the lips (cold sores) and in the genital area, they can break out anywhere that there is a significant exposure and limited protection. Inflamed, chafed or irritated skin can be targets. However, since Herpes is less common on normal skin, see your doctor for confirmation.
There are different types of herpes infections; herpes simplex infection of mouth (gingivostomatitis) and lips (labialis) are the most common. Others include genital herpes, and herpes zoster. Herpes infection could very mild to very dangerous depending on the type and location of the body affected. I ...Read more

Bump in the inner thigh. No pain even when pressed No itching. Is this herpes? Possible exposure 60 days back covered oral sex
5 red bumps inner thigh that are not painful and do not itch. They are flat almost and I did shave a couple days ago. Could it be herpes?
Folliculitis-not HSV: What you have is a mild folliculitis from shaving. Better to try and 'clip' with scissors (very carefully) or some other method of trimming, not shaving. Shaving can injure the skin and allow bacteria to 'set up shop' as they've done in your case. A few days of bacitracin applied 3 or 4x a day should wipe that out. Herpes hurts like hell, and fungus would itch-so those are ruled out. Feel better!
I have a rash on my inner thigh. It is unilateral, not painful, not itchy but has come up with lesions and scabs. Herpes? Or something else?
Herpes? Shingles?: If "lesions" means blisters or sores and rash is recent (a few days) and not long lasting, I would be more suspicious of herpes zoster (shingles). Genital herpes also is possible. Or a simple allergic reaction, or any of several other kinds if dermatitis. Earlier makes diagnosis easier and is very important for successful treatment of either herpes or shingles, so see a doctor ASAP.
Can I contract herpes by coming into brief contact with an infected penis? It touched my thigh for roughly 3 seconds, then I pulled my pants back up.
Extremely unlikely: Herpes transmission rarely if ever occurs with such brief, superficial contact. The virus usually must be massaed into the tissues for infection to take hold, which is why initial herpes symptoms usually involve sites of maximum friction during sex, like vaginal opening and labia minora in women, penis in men. This sort of contact carries little or no risk.
I have spots/blisters on my back and thighs and top of buttocks. Is this herpes? For the last 2 weeks. They are spaced out together. Not grouped
Not herpes: See a dermatologist without delay. When you call, explain that it is urgent.

I keep getting a cluster of clear blisters on the back of my thigh every two months or so, should I be worried about genital herpes or eczema??
Maybe: Itch??? Exactly the same place each time? Scabs and heals in 1 or 2 weeks? See a dermatologist for most precise definition.
Have a painful rash on thigh, clusters of pimples. Before they came out there was a burning sensation that lasted for a few days. Could it be herpes?
Could be shingles: Clusters of vesicles on a red patch could be herpes simplex or herpes zoster (shingles). Both start as pain/itching, although shingles is more likely to be painful. Shingles usually has several/many clusters of vesicles in a linear (dermatomal) distribution. Not all clusters come out at one time. Please see your dermatologist for treatment. Shingles is contagious to people who never had chickenpox.
I have 2 tiny red bumps on each thigh. They have a white head. Is this herpes? I also get a slight burning feeling in my groin, hips, low back and legs constantly.
See Your Doctor: The description and symptoms given do not sound typical for Herpes however more info is needed such as duration, your medical history (recent/past) and more. Additionally, diagnosis of skin lesions is challenging without visual inspection. The causes for "bumps" are quite numerous: infection, allergy, disease-related, and more. Suggest you see your doctor now for proper diagnosis and treatment

Is it possible to get herpes on your leg? I have a red bump on the back of my leg and curious if it could be. I don't have herpes since last tested.
Possible & unlikely: Herpes seldom recurs outside the area in which you had the initial outbreak. It is extremely painful and tender and presents initially as a blister-like lesion. This sounds like it is something else. Show it to a doctor. Good luck.
Five years ago I had some blisters on my leg. I went to see 2different doctor and both conclude it was shingles. After I did a blood test and they came back hsv2 positive? Do I have shingles or herpes
Will genital herpes cause buttock ache/ back of leg ache even though rash is elsewhere? I.e penis
Probably not, but...: This depends on the nature and timing of hte pain. If the buttoch/leg discomfort is at the same time as a genital herpes outbreak, or starts 1-2 days before, and if it clears up in another day or two. They may be linked. If you're talking about more chronic or persistent, ongoing pain, and not associated with herpes outbreaks, then almost certainly it's an entirely separate problem.
