Hsv 1 Vs Pimple
Have HSV 1. Past week saw cut outside vagina and now I have a pimple on groin like white head. Is this a new herpes infection. I am married????....
Herpes simplex: It does not sound as if you have a herpetic eruption on your genitalia, but does sound as if you should be seen by a doctor and have this diagnosed and treated appropriately. Best wishes. ...Read more
I have a bump in my pubic hair that looks kinda like a pimple. Is this some form of STD? I have hsv-1(cold sores) but never anything down there
Likely folliculitis: With the development of pubic hair, you become susceptible to folliculitis -- i.e. inflammation or minor infection at the base of a hair. (You may be able to see a hair in the center of the pimple.) The only STD that could do this is genital herpes, but herpes doesn't involve hairs and is uncommon in the pubic area. You'll be at higher risk of folliculitis if you shave your pubic hair. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Red pimple like bumps on my left inner thigh in crotch area. Painless and not itchy. If popped pus comes out.I have genital HSV 1. They wont go away?
Folliculitis?: This sounds most like folliculitis, or some other bacteria infection. Almost certainly not herpes -- both the symptoms (pus if popped) and location are wrong. And I'll bet this doesn't look much like your previous genital herpes outbreak(s), right? Anyway, see a doctor and take it from there. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Swollen elliptical pimple Like bump on vagina usually before or during menses. .keeps recurring. .hsv 1 and 2 both negative.. Other STD s also negativ?
Not herpes or STD: Everyone thinks of herpes recurrent genital lesions, but the tests are against it and herpes doesn't recur this regularly or this often and rarely in the exact same spot. With the menstural cycle variation, I would suspect a cyst of hormonally responsive tissue, like a bit of tissue like the uterine lining. I'm not a gynecologist and don't know if such things happen. But discuss with your gyn. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I have been diagnosed with HSV-1 after an NAAT swab was taken, as I had a huge rash in my genital area. The rash did not resemble blisters, just pimples that became ulcers inside the vagina and around the anus. It did not really hurt, but was hard
Had 3 small pimples on penis. Two on the shaft one on the head. Hsv 2 neg and hsv1 pos. 2 weeks later look better but have 4 fluid filled pimples ?
My husband & i were both diagnosed with HSV 1 he has never had an outbreak had one genitally. Is there a way to tell which of us is was the carrier?
No, not really: Hsv 1 is considered universally present, in most of the adult population, so there isn't much desire or need to test it further. In a research setting, each person (of a couple) would have to have his/her hsv-1 strain (sub-typed) identified, etc., etc... But, it gets too scientific, too complicated. ...Read more
Herpes virus: Herpes virus type 1 (hsv 1) causes upper respiratory infections, usually manifest as "cold sores", which can spread to the skin. Herpes virus type 2 is a sexually transmitted infection that occurs only in the genital region usually manifesting as a single tender blister or a group (cluster) of tender vesicles on top of red inflammed skin. Hsv1 does not lead to hsv2 infections. Only sex does. ...Read more
HSV-1 & HSV-2 if in the oral area looks a like or their is any diference between one type of blisters and the other?
No difference: There is no difference at all. Genital HSV2 infection usually causes more frequent outbreaks and asymptomatic viral shedding than either oral or genital HSV1, and therefore genital HSV2 is more frequently transmitted to exposed persons. But there are no differences in the symptoms, appearance of lesions, or severity of outbreaks from either virus, whether oral or genital. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Hsv 1&2 blood tests done -- negative for 2, but 1 came back "indeterminate" should one be concerned about this during labour? No outbreaks ever.
I have had one out break of hsv 1 genitally about 5 yrs ago and never had one again. After labor got cold sores? never had 1 before is that possible?
Some chance: Most herpes in this area is type 2. Sometimes type 1 is transmitted by oral contact. Most people already have type 1 but do not experience any symptoms. If you already have type 1, then a new infection must be type 2. You should have been given an oral therapy at the start 1 week ago. You can be tested to determine if you have hsv1 or 2 or both. You should see a Dr for expert advise about herpes a ...Read more
My partner and I have oral HSV 1. What is the probability one could get genital HSV 1 if we refrain from oral contact during an outbreak?
How long does HSV (1) survive on a finger. For example One touches an oral blister that has not yet opened then accidentally touched another area .
It doesn't matter...: ...how long the virus can survive. In HSV infection present for more than a few months, autoinoculation (self transmission to a new part of the body) almost never occurs, except rarely to an eye. The immune system prevents it. Use common sense hygiene (hand washing, alchohol gel) but no need to be compulsive about it or worry about transmitting oral herpes to, say, the genital area. ...Read more

I contracted herpes hsv 1 from a sexworker 17 years back . After the sex i develop small bumps one head of the penis which itches. for last two years?
Details matter: Hsv 1 on face??? or genital? How do you know the source? Was it cultured? Treated? Now you have something else not related to hsv. A clue is "after the sex"........what kind of sex? Condom? Lubricant or other material used by either participant? Since it appears only after sex it is not related to foreskin. Consider an irritation or allergy related to something used during sex or used by another p ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
