Hair loss from meds?: Both hypothyroidism as well as hyperthyroidism can cause hair loss. I would recommend seeing a dermatologist or someone expert in the hair loss treatment not due to genetic causes. ...Read more

Case-by-case: There are many helpful treatments for menopausal symptoms, and these are best reviewed individually. That way, your doctor can look at your personal heath risks, including family history & make reasonable suggestions for you. It's been awhile: I've noticed your questions for awhile now and I see how difficult it's been for you. Since you can't take the usual meds, I'm really urging you to have a good psych eval and follow up w/ the right talk therapy to learn skills for managing for health and emotional challenges. HRT: I presume you mean Hormone Replacement Therapy. Pharmaceutical reps, all nice folk, come often to the doctor with new information about their "wonder" drug. The drugs are almost always very reliable but the doctor really won't know which new product is best for which patient. Take your doctor's advice which may or may not be sound.
