Can wellbutrin (bupropion) and lithium improve anxiety, depression, and overal mood?

Can wellbutrin (bupropion) and lithium improve anxiety, depression, and overal mood?

Bipolar disorder: Bipolar disorder is often helped by lithium, which is a mood-stabilizing medication. Sometimes depression is severe enough despite this that an antidepressant like wellbutrin (bupropion) is added -- but not without the mood stabilizer. If prescribed by your psychiatrist and you are followed regularly, the combination may help your mood, wellbutrin (bupropion) is not an anti-anxiety medication, though. ...Read more

Im on Zoloft and Buspar (buspirone) and Risperdal for deeprassnt can Risperdal bi replace to remeron? For insomnia and anxiety and deeprassnt? ??

Different rationale.: The Buspar (buspirone) is often used for anxiety but it may take time for it to work. Zoloft is an antidepressant of the SSRI class , Risperdal is an antipsychotic but is used in small doses for severe anxiety. Remeron is an atypical antidepressant and is used more to stimulate appetite or improve your sleep. Please discuss this with your doctor. I quit Prozac (fluoxetine) after 10yrs. Suicidal ideation, depression, and insomnia decreased post-prozac but anxiety increased. How can I treat anxiety now?

Previously been on Effexor (venlafaxine) XR for anxiety and depression which helped. Now depressed grieving mothers death etc. Started Prozac (day 2) no symptoms drive :(?

Prozac & Effexor (venlafaxine): Prozac & Effexor (venlafaxine) are both antidepressants, but work a little differently. Also if only on day 2 of Prozac it's too early to know if it will help your depression symptoms. Neither will eliminate grief, but psychotherapy can help you work through it. If Effexor (venlafaxine) helped before, most doctors would consider re-starting it rather than going to something else. Please talk with your doctor. ...Read more

Will the citalopram help my low mood and anxiety?

Most likely: If you were prescribed citalopram, i assume the doctor diagnosed major depression and/or an anxiety disorder. If so, the medicine is quite likely to improve your symptoms. However, not all low moods are major depression, and not all anxiety requires medical treatment, so if citalopram was not prescribed following a careful evaluation, the chance it will help is much less. ...Read more
