Otc pain medication and most prescribed don't tend to work for me. My doctors have stopped giving me them because of it. What can I do for pain?
Talk to psychiatrist: Call your psychiatrist for an appointment, and have a thorough discussion of your illness and treatment. You may have very legitimate concerns and reasons to stop or change your medication treatment, but it needs to be done with your physician's partnership. If you stop your medication completely on your own, you have a very high likelihood of relapse. Call for an appointment tomorrow. ...Read more

Please tell me what will happen if I stopped taking my anti-depressants and my anxiety medication?

Chest flutters started while taking Domperidone. Stopped when medication discontinued. Any permanent damage caused?
Unlikely: Domperidone can potentially have the side effect of causing an arrhythmia which you may have detected as "chest flutters". I would advise that you avoid the medication in the future and let you physician know about the side effect that you had. That being said, it is very unlikely that any permanent damage was caused by what sounds to be a transient response. Again, avoid use in the future! ...Read more

If im having tendon pain from levoflaxin will it be ok to wait until this evening to see a doctor? I stopped taking the medication.
Probably: If pain is mild-moderate, you have full function of the affected limb, and you've discontinued, waiting a few hours is ok. The rare serious complication is rupture of a tendon, with Achilles (heel) most frequent. This usually has a sudden onset, is very painful, causes swelling, and may inhibit lower leg function. If any of these signs occur, seek help immediately. ...Read more
Generalised anxiety disorder. Condition mild but flares up once drugs are stopped. Does it mean patient needs to be on medication for life?
Not necessarily...: Depending on the meds, the body may need more or less time to adjust to not having the meds anymore. Also, hopefully, underlying issues have been worked through in therapy and alternative ways of handling anxiety and life (eg relaxation, deep breathing, eft) learned. While meds are hopefully and usually not for life, coping with life is for life. ;) good luck! ...Read more
My question is that I stopped using levothyroxine due to all the pain medications. I have still not got periods for the month of February.?
Important medication: If you are taking levothyroxine for hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) then that is a medication that should not be discontinued. I have tried 25 different medications for depression since 1982. Sinnequan only worked twice with bad side effects but then stopped working in 1995.
Depression: You're not the only one with the same problem. A couple of considerations - first, there's a chance it may not be just depression. Chances are it's more than depression. Secondly, if it is depression, it's not just about medication to treat it. There must be a comprehensive approach to it - psychotherapy, support group, etc. I find that people would rather take a pill without resolving the cause. ...Read more
I still have the symptoms of gastritis although I finished the medications given. What should I do I still feel the urge of vomiting when I excercise?
Sure it's gastritis?: Vomiting reflex is controlled by 2 units in brain medulla--one receives nerve impulses from GI tract, the other is a chemical receptor. Both have nerve connections to not only GI tract (pharynx, mesenteric vessels, bile ducts) but also from brain corticobulbar areas that mediate smells, sights, & taste. Maybe you have gastritis, but maybe your symptoms have little to do with GI tract. Get checked. ...Read more
