Very bad: It is not "impurities" in tobacco, or additives or anything else that does most of the damage - it is the tobacco. Doesn't matter if they call it "pure" or "organic" or whatever. Vicodin and beer: I'm sorry to say that we know so little about you it's impossible to say how you would react. In general doctors are not in the position to comment on the mixture of social and or illegal drugs. That would mean whether they are illegally or even legally obtained or used . Our job is to comment on the therapeutic use of drugs. Both vicodin and beer are legal you might ask the prescribing physician. ...Read more
Controversial: Opinions & research on coffee seem to change often: one week it's bad for you; then some benefit from it is found. Caffeine is a stimulant; so can interrupt sleep patterns; also acts like diuretic; too much can overstimulate the heart & nervous system; can exacerbate reflux as can acids in coffee. General recommendation is no more than 2 cups a day, preferably in the morning. But that may change…. ...Read more
Opiates: I take it that you're talking about pain control. Pain control is an art made more difficult by the limited choices we have. With great attention to detail you can find an answer working closely with your physician. Opiates can be rotated. That said one should not rule out any other modality such as physical therapy ; exercise. ...Read more
Relativity: " bad" is a relative term. Are you asking about addiction, purity, side effects, potency, social stigma ? Heroin is the basis of all opiates. If heroin is manufactured under pharmacological quality controls, then there is no issue of purity. In terms of other characteristics, that depends on the user's physiology. ...Read more

It depends: Your question is somewhat vague. All medications when appropriately prescribed for its indication and taken as directed by a physician should not be a problem. It has the potential for physical dependence, cause respiratory depression when taken in excess & death. ...Read more

I am having real bad withdrawal from vicodin and klopin. I decided to quite cold turkey. What to do?
Can you tell me is it bad to take 15-20 mg of Ambien (zolpidem) tonight if i took 50 mg of vicodin yesterday?
Yes it would be bad: and the fact that you are asking that online rather than of the prescriber would lead me to believe that either 1) it is NOT prescribed and/or 2) you do not want the prescriber to know how much you are taking. If you had 8 Vicodin or equivalent you are also pushing the tylenol (acetaminophen) to maximum levels you should be taking. The FDA has made 5 mg the recommended dose of Ambien in women;15-20 TOO MUCH. ...Read more

Addictionologist: The symptoms of Vicodin (opioid) withdrawal are pretty severe physically and emotionally. However, they are not life threatening. It is best to do it with a trained addictionologist. It has to be tapered down and certain non-addictive medications need to be used to minimize some of the withdrawal like diarrhea, craps, pain and a sleep disturbance. Good Luck! Most people quit drugs so can you! ...Read more

Is it bad to keep switching your pain killers? My doctors keep switching me from Vicodin to Percocet bc one helps vice versa. Could this be deadly?
Get 2nd opinion: Your doctor is hoping I suspect to improve pain management by rotating the opiates you are taking. Generally a safe thing to try. Often not that helpful and can put extra focus on pills rather than other options often more helpful. You are young and so at extra risk for developing or having an opioid use disorder. You can get informed under handouts at drrotchford.com. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
