How To Use Fucidin On Penis
My 6yr son has a red line — rash-like running from the base of the penis by the scrotum to the tip of the penis (uncircumcised) — may I try Fucidin h?
Need diagnosis: Fucidin h is an antifungal cream & contains hydrocortisone. We don't know if this is a fungal rash. Would advise taking son to his pediatrician or family dr. To diagnose because description of a "red line" is insufficient to make a diagnosis. Or you could send a photo via email for us to evaluate. ...Read more
I'm positive for candida yeast infection my penis was very itchy doctor give me tavanic 1000 & Fucidin 2% been 2 month and still itchy any stronger m?
Unlikely combination: I don't know of any reported interactions between fucidin cream and the common skin lighteners, which usually use hydroquinone as their active ingredient. But I've never run into a situation where both were used at the same time on the same area of skin. Dark spots are not usually infected, and vice versa. ...Read more
Poss allergic rxn: Although used to treat dermatitis, this and virtually any other topical cream could cause an allergic or irritant reaction, which would show up as a red, irritated and often itchy area. I'd recommend you consult with your dermatologist to evaluate the reaction, and recommend proper skin care measures and treatment. ...Read more

Why does my 6 yr old son have impetigo at least every few months? He has had it since he was a year old. Currently we use Fucidin to control it.
Likely colonization: Impetigo is a bacterial infection of the skin, most often caused by staph aureus. This bacteri is sometimes colonized in the nostrils of those with chronic hay fever or sinusitis, and in patients with extensive eczema. Your doctor can take a swab bacterial culture of your son's nostrils. If positive, your doctor may prescribe a topical antibacterial medicine to reduce colonization. ...Read more
What is the best nappy/barrier cream for babies as my little one was prescribed even with Fucidin but did not do the tricks, he screams in pain?
Bad diaper rash?: Rashes are hard to describe in words, so for bad diaper rashes, visits to the doctor may be needed. Haven't heard of Fucidin (websites say it is an antibacterial cream; not in the U.S. Perhaps). For babies with bad diaper rashes, we know that not wearing a diaper will help. Zinc oxide creams help, but one must not rub the skin when trying to clean the butt. Anti-yeast creams may be added, etc... ...Read more

Spironlactone: For adult women the best acne treatment is the anti-androgen spironolactone. Usually 100mg orally. Expect clearing in 3 months. Not if pregnant or in kidney failure. If very severe acne and insufficient response to spironolactone, 5 months of oral isotretinoin, probably at 80mg a day, will rescue you. Not if pregnant. Acne is related to hormones, menstrual cycles, genetics. Not diet or hygiene or ...Read more

Infected hair follicles (folliculitis).
Skin infection around the nails (paronychia).
You should have already seen improvement. You need a different medication. ...Read more
My skin has got eczema plus infection. I got Fucidin Ointment and applied to the affected area. Then the fluid started coming out. Can I still use it?
Depends: Depends on the nature of the infection (dermatitis or subcutaneous involvement). Eczema can be very difficult to control if the infection is not appropriately addressed. Because the description of "fluid coming out" is somewhat unusual, I recommend a virtual consult for a more personalized assessment and bringing this to the attention of your local provider. ...Read more

Not for fungus: Most diaper rashes are fungal in origin and Fucidin cream is an antibiotic so it would not necessarily help the rash unless there was a bacterial component to it, irregardless of any open sores. If the open sores are infected, this cream can help and may also help prevent them from getting infected. Get the rash diagnosed to assure the best treatment if it persists. Good luck to you. ...Read more
