How long does it take to clear the eustachian tubes once they are clogged from cold and sinus infection? It happened after a cold and sinus infection. Taking amxicillin; hearing is muffled.
A blocked ear after an infection is a very individual thing. If this is the first time this has happened and if you have no problems with your ears flying then it will probably clear rapidly (days). If this is something that happens frequently then there may be a more chronic condition going on such as chronic sinusitis which can smolder for a much longer time (weeks). Muffled hearing suggests
fluid in the ear which usually means this is a more serious condition and should be evaluated by an ENT physician who would not only look at your ears but also look in your nose with a nasal endoscope to evaluate the sinuses and eustachian tube area and obtain cultures if necessary. This is best done a week or so after taking the Amoxicillin if symptoms are still present.
Nasal irrigations with a nettie pot may help speed up the recovery as will a few days of afrin use. ...Read more

I'm 39 yr old and just found out my tubes r blocked at the distal point, if I have a successful surgery 2 unblock them would artificial insem b an opt?
Not an expert, but..: If you have your tubes surgically opened, it's possible that you may get pregnant through regular insemination, i.e., sex. Egg retrieval with in vitro fertilization may be another option. This assumes that you have normal ovarian reserve. If you do not, ask your fertility specialist about the option of the donor egg. Good luck with this. Lgromkomd. ...Read more

Valsalva maneuver: If you do not have a cold and if you do not have any pus in your nose, you can try to pop your ears with both nostrils pinched tightly and with mouth closed, gently blow your nose. The air in the nose will then be pushed into the back of the nose and may clear the mucus in your eustachian tube. People on airplanes do this to equalize middle ear pressure. Do not blow too hard or you may injuretm. ...Read more

This can be from many different causes, but I am not aware of a way to unblock them. You may need artificial means.. ...Read more

Possibly: If adhesions are causing the blockage then laparoscopy can take those down. Adhesion can, however, come back but less likely if done with laparoscopically. In terms of total blockage, I can't help u as this can only be determined by ur gyn with imaging. Good luck. ...Read more
