Possibly steroids: Tendinitis, arthritis, gout are all inflammatory conditions. Assuming that you do not have an infection, your doctor may prescribe a short course of steroids which are the strongest anti-inflammatory medication. Ace bandages may help but less than steroids. ...Read more

Depends: There are quite a few tendons that surround the ankle, tendonitis at back of the ankle is different than tedonitis over the inner aspect and that on the outer aspect.
