First genital herpes outbreak. If I have been having sex with the same partner exclusively for over a year, how can I have contracted this only now?

No correlation: There is no correlation between infection and visible outbreaks. 90% of people infected with herpes type two, do not have sores or outbreaks. And the others can have no trigger to explain their outbreak. The mystery here that is not included in your question is is the genital herpes actually a new infection with herpes type one and not type two? Did you know your herpes blood test status? ...Read more

Im having genital herpes outbreak, usuallly i take acyclovior..But pharm told me it might affect my ulcer. Any home remedies i can do to dry this up?!

Unlikely: In several studies less than one-half of 1% of people taking an Acyclovir salt developed ulcers and all were over 50 years old. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Misinformed?: If using protection that covers the infected area you don't have to wait. But the more important thing here is that having sores does not in any way correlate to contagiousness. Will my genital herpes outbreak pass with out antiviral meds? I am experiencing second outbreak in as many years. Did take the meds the first time.

Herpes : Herpes outbreaks definitely last longer and are more painful if untreated. The sooner the medication is started (i.e. At the onset of a tingling sensation prior to any herpes lesions being present) the shorter the duration of the actual herpetic lesion.
