my mom didnt tell me i have ODD she doesnt want meds idk why but how can i "control" it? i hate being mean i dont try to should i ask my doctor?

Yes: If you have episodes of anger over which you have no control and for which you have little memory, followed by a peaceful calm, you may benefit from medication to stop these. If your anger is fully intentional and you are able to control it at times, you may benefit from therapy. Exercise can help as can getting enough sleep. Tell your doctor about your concerns. You are old enough to be treated ...Read more

Sugar: There are some who argue that a diet high in sugars can sometimes be responsible for this. You may want to keep a food diary and see if your carbohydrates are higher than your protein calories and then see where you can cut out sugar. ...Read more

Im a teen with diabetes. I hate it and don't check. Mom is always on me. What can I do?

Im a teen with diabetes. I hate it and don't check. Mom is always on me. What can I do?

Check: The diabetes is not going away. The sooner you accept this, the quicker you will be able to get a handle on it. It will be a lifelong disease so try to learn as much as you can about it. You might want to talk to other teen who also has diabetes to see how they handle it. Good luck, . ...Read more

My mom smoke EVERY day and refuses to quit. My dad and I hate it. She gets upset and start a fuss if I don't feel like getting her smokes. Solution?

My mom smoke EVERY day and refuses to quit. My dad and I hate it. She gets upset and start a fuss if I don't feel like getting her smokes. Solution?

Hard to handle: Of course, you are right to respectfully refuse - but it's also not good to have a big fight every time. Not knowing more about all of you makes advice hard too but I'd hope a Dr might help. If possible, try to calmly say you care about your own health - hers too. That you need to be firm and she to be fair. Try to have a Dr eval her ability to understand. She may not be well - a Dr may help. ...Read more

I think my mom secretly hates me. How do I cope with this when it puts me down? I don't want to fix our relationship.

I think my mom secretly hates me. How do I cope with this when it puts me down? I don't want to fix our relationship.

Talk to someone: I am sorry that you are having to deal with this. No one should ever have to wonder if their mother hates them. You should find an adult you can talk with and ask them for help dealing with this. Is there a teacher you could approach, or a school counselor or nurse? How about going to a planned parenthood or other clinic? There are lots of people who would love to help if you just ask. ...Read more

Am I a bad mom because I hate to put my baby on her tummy? She hates tummy time.

Am I a bad mom because I hate to put my baby on her tummy? She hates tummy time.

Tummy time benefit: Tummy time gives baby a chance to get off their back & begin to develop upper arm & chest strength. It also takes the weight of their head off the bed & decreases the skull flattening that occurs in some. If baby doesn't have excessive skull flattening & hates the position, i'd not feel bad if you avoid it. Try it occasionally & eventually baby should accept it.If x'tra flat head = needs tummy tm. ...Read more

Why is the first thing pain docs do is judge ppl in pain n not help but act rude happens to my mom! she's in pain after major car accident hate them?

Why is the first thing pain docs do is judge ppl in pain n not help but act rude happens to my mom! she's in pain after major car accident hate them?

Be careful not to : Over-generalize from one bad experience. Your mom needs to ask her primary care doctor for a referral to a different pain management specialist. Sometimes attorneys pressure these doctors to "spin" their records in a way that makes the doctor uncomfortable; sometimes it"s just a communication problem. If she feels her treatment was inappropriate, contact the state board of medical examiners. ...Read more

I hate to go to parties&dance but my parents argue&say I should. how to prevent the argue without doing what they need knowing that my mom is diabetic?

I hate to go to parties&dance but my parents argue&say I should. how to prevent the argue without doing what they need knowing that my mom is diabetic?

Parents: perhaps you should redirect your extracurricular activities. If you you could find if there's any common ground between you and your parents as to what other activities you both might find beneficial. That way you could eliminate parties and dancing in exchange for some other means of socialization and meeting other people your own age. That should make your parents happy also. ...Read more

I hate talking to mom. Talking to her is like competition to out talk me. I be minding my business and she brings up "issues" out of the blue. Why?

I hate talking to mom. Talking to her is like competition to out talk me. I be minding my business and she brings up "issues" out of the blue. Why?

Psychotherapy time: Because she feels a need to and because she can. By your age - i imagine that you could be free of her if you didn't value something, so... Maybe you could convince her to have a few conjoint therapy sessions to set up talking rules. She'll know you value her but that you don't want her to act like she has. A therapist might help her relax about & trust you w/ whatever your issues are. Best! ...Read more

37 and allergic to mom's dachshund. Eyes are tearing, red and itch. Nose is runny and sneezing. Hate benadryl, (diphenhydramine) is 25mg hydrox-zine ok?

37 and allergic to mom's dachshund. Eyes are tearing, red and itch. Nose is runny and sneezing. Hate benadryl, (diphenhydramine) is 25mg hydrox-zine ok?

Sure.: Yes, hydroxyzine is fine, but it's fairly similar to Benadryl (diphenhydramine). You may prefer Zyrtec, Allegra or Claritin, as they won't make you as drowsy. Alaway and Zaditor are two OTC eyedrops that are fast acting and could help as well. You can even take both the eyedrops and Zyrtec, Allegra or Claritin. Hope this helps. ...Read more

What can I do if my dad died 8 months ago, and my mom got a new boyfriend already. What do I do?

What can I do if my dad died 8 months ago, and my mom got a new boyfriend already. What do I do?

Talk therapy: I'm sorry for your loss. You might still have many feelings to work through with the loss of your father and then seeing your mother have a new boyfriend. Please consider having your own, confidential talk therapy relationship with a psychologist or other type of counseling. I hope that you will give yourself this opportunity to mourn and heal. Be well, . ...Read more

My moms boyfriend makes me do things and i'm scared to tell, what should I do?

My moms boyfriend makes me do things and i'm scared to tell, what should I do?

Be Honest/Not Scared: What your mother's boyfriend is asking you to do is obviously something you feel wrong and uncomfortable with. Tell your school nurse and teach, and your mom. If no one does anything, be brave and go to the police station, and stay there until they help you. Don't hide! life will only get worse. If you are threatened by someone, again go straight to the police. Be well, and brave! ...Read more

I'm 16 and me and my boyfriend has sex Thursday, Unprotectedly. He told me he came inside me. How and when should I tell my mom that I'm pregnant?

Testing/truth: First, I suggest that you do a home pregnancy test within the next 2 weeks. You are not pregnant until proven by a urine or blood test. Yes, time to talk honestly with Mom: she will understand and get you to a GYN for birth control. Tell your boyfriend- no sex without condoms and spermicidal gel or foam. Please monitor your cycles carefully and always protect yourself from pregnancy and STDs. ...Read more

Was ivdu now clean 2y. Painful memories, hate myself. Can i not tell new doc abt history of related hospital stay (cellulitis) so i can move on?

You have a choice: But it is important for your doctor to know your entire history. Speaking for myself, i would not judge you for your past except to reemphasize that you did good by getting past it. ...Read more
