I do not think there is a magic number on the amount you can eat. Raw oysters are probably more of an issues than cooked ones.

Hot sauce will not do anything against bacteria.
Also, since you are allergic to other foods, you may very well be allergic to sea food also. Nowadays, with all sea pollution it is not safe to eat raw sea food.

The black color may be related to a number of things. If there is tar in the air, old blood in any area of the airway, this can cause this color in the sputum. If he is aspirating from his stomach, then this could also lead to this finding.
