Depends: Depends on the dose you were on, and your particular sensitivity to changes in ssri levels. If you're on 50mg or less, chances are you'd tolerate an abrupt discontinuation without side effects. Any higher dose than that, i'd recommend tapering. Personally, since there's virtually no downside to tapering, i taper everyone to 25 mg before discontinuing. Talk to your doc about tapering. ...Read more

Switching Rx: That dose of paxil (paroxetine) is not very high, and it's possible you could make the switch. The zoloft should help take its place. If you have any thoughts about how to change from one to the other though, you should get your instructions from your long term provider. No need to taper: too early to be dependent stop it if wanted , but it can take weeks to take effect , but usually doesn't work well , pray , walk , time is a good healer ...Read more
