I am to take 50, 000 iu of vitamin d (my level is 26.7) once a week. Could I take one capsule every other week and still benefit?

Vit D: Take Vitamin D3. It is superior to D2. Take 5000 iu of D3 daily. 10000 iu is too much. Take 5000 iu daily for one week. Then drop to 2000 iu daily. ...Read more
My dr prescribed 50, 000 iu of vitamin d (13.2 was my level) to take weekly is this a normal dose and what side effects should I be worried about?
Stop D2, Take D3:
The 50, 000 iu form of D is vitamin D2.Research shows D2 increases mortality by 2% whereas Vit D3 reduces mortality by 6%.I advise stop dangerous D2 and take D3- most adults need 5-8, 000 iu/day to achieve optimal levels-best to take with vits A/K. See http://tinyurl. Com/6qgpd24

I have hepatitis C also low vitamin d I take 2000 iu of vitamin d a day. Will this hurt my Liver?
Will help liver:
Adequate Vitamin D is essential for good immune function so taking Vit D can only help your liver. However. Most adults need 5-8000 iu/day to achieve optimal levels of 50-80. though this time of year good sun exposure can give you enough D as well. See http://bit. Ly/166DLiq &

I already take 3700 iu of vitamin d, why does it keep showing up that I am deficient? My thyroid and kidneys are fine.
Not enough D: It sounds like you are taking enough vitamin d to maintain healthy levels, but not enough to raise deficient levels into the healthy range. You may need to take very high doses of vitamin d for 3 months or more to get your levels into a healthy range. Other possibilities might include poor absorption of fat and fat-soluble vitamins like vitamin d, or taking steroids. Work w/ your doc on this. ...Read more

Vitamin D: A dose of 50, 000 is the correct way to increase your blood level of vitamin D when taken once a week. 4 weeks later have your vitamin D level checked again and if it is within normal range you can revert to 2000 units daily. My vitamin d is 44nmol/l inssuficiency. Normal is over 50. whatdose of vitamin d shall I take to bring it normal?
Depends: This is a highly debated topic. Usual lab reference normals are 30-50. Some argue this is too low, and say 50-80 should be normal. Measuring your levels twice a year isn't unreasonable especially if your taking higher levels. For a standard adult dosing higher than 2, 000 units a day may be necessary. Doing so under medical guidance should be considered. ...Read more

I take 50, 000 IUs of Vitamin D once a week. Will taking a daily multi-vitamin cause me to be taking in too much Vitamin D?
Hardly...: Ur multi likely has 400iu - less than 1% of 50, 000iu. It won't matter. What's more important to know is that if ur an average size the 50, 000 weekly will only get u a level in the 30s. to get closer to a level of 50 u will need at least 5000 iu a day. Daily doses yield higher levels with less total dose. ...Read more
Vitamin D was low 17nmol/l.I took vit D supplement 10, 000 IU for 2month it become 156 nmol/l. should I take supplement always?! or stop¡
Depends on sun exp.:
156 nmol/l = 62 ng/ml which is just where you want it (optimal levels are 50-80). But if you stop the levels will likely decline, so it seems wise to continue 10, 000 iu/day. The only other way to get significant amounts of D is via exposure to mid-day sun without use of sun screen. If you don't get sun, then it is wise to continue supplementation.

How long does it take for the body to get rid of the excess vitamin "d" that was taken for four and one half years at 50, 000 units per day?
Why: Were you taking it? The solution is to get the blood level checked. It should be somewhere between 60 and 80. It may well be that you have achieved an ideal level. Vitamin d is really a hormone that is made by the action of sunlight on the skin. Oral intake was never intended by god and it is very poorly absorbed. Get it checked out. ...Read more
