Usually I don't have this issue but lately if my posture is off it really causes pain and tension to my neck. It used to be fine. Why the change?
Many Possibilities: Depending on how long it's been going on, i would consider an evaluation by a spine specialist. Sometimes it could be a muscle imbalance, early onset arthritis or scoliosis. Starting 2 develope a hunch on the back of the neck/back area from bad posture. Is there anything i can do 2 correct it, its really bothering & hurts?
"Dowager's hump": Not a medical diagnosis, but the folk term for such a hunch, and yes, it is related to bad posture but also can be familial (does your mother/GM have one?), from an injury, or could also indicate early osteoporosis. Practice better posture, get a clavicle brace to keep those shoulders back or wear a well padded backpack to do the same. Rolled towel between shoulders to sit or sleep.
