Gastroenteritis: The best thing for v/d, caused by virus, is belly rest. After vomiting, wait 1-1 1/2 hrs, to let the stomach relax. Then just sips of clear liquids, like pedialyte. No water. If that stays down for 1/2hr, increase to 1-2oz/hr, until 6hrs from last vomit. Then increase as tolerated. Take it slow. If vomiting doesn't stop, see a doctor.
