Period cramps: The best 1st option is high dose ibuprofen. The sooner you take it, the better it works so don't wait for things to get worse. Dose is 800mg every 8 hours for up to 3 days. Take with food or it can upset your stomach. Do not take if you have a history of gastritis or stomach ulcers or were otherwise told not to take ibuprofen. If this doesn't work, seek help.
