I'm pregnant and have stuffy nose/postnasal drip so i stop breathing for a few seconds every time i clear my nose, etc. What is the impact on the baby?

Not expected: Nasal stuffiness has not been known to affect the fetus but you are obviously miserable. See an allergist to find out if you may just have vasomotor rhinitis of pregnancy (considered hormone related) or an allergic issue. I don't expect antihistamine helping the congestion but the post-nasal drips may improve. Congrats. ...Read more

If standing stops it: then what you have is a buildup of mucus in the nose and it is fine when it drains. Sleep propped up on several pillows, drink more than the usual amount of liquids, and stop taking antihistamines if you were taking them for the ear so the mucus stays loose and can drain. ...Read more
