I'm on the pill (yaz) and my period (the white pills) is due when my boyfriend is visiting. Is it safe and will it work if I skip a period?
It's ok!: If you have the 28 day pill package, discard the 7 placebo pills and start a new package Day 1 and continue the entire month. Some brands of pills come with the intent of one period every 3 months, but I do not recommend doing this consistently with Yaz, (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) as this BCP contains a progestin that has been linked with a slightly higher risk of blood clots, so the 7 day break is better. Also, be safe! ...Read more
