How To Remove Whitehead Scars
Hello sir. I'm rida. 18 years old. Experiencing whiteheads problem for years now. How to remove the scars? Looks red and bad even after months.
Possibly: First, if the scar is red or swollen, use an over-the-counter cortisone cream to calm the skin. You can also do laser therapy or filler therapy, within one to three sessions, laser skin resurfacing using fractionated laser technology can even out the skin surface and increase new collagen formation to help fill in acne scars. Hi, I am having lots of whiteheads on my face and scars also. I started using bio oil for scars. Would that be okay for my skin?
No: It is a waste of money and will not reduce your scars. When you control your acne your face will gradually heal. You fail to mention important details. Menst normal? Birth control? Any meds or supplements? If you are not pregnant, your best treatment is probably tretinoin gel/cream and oral spironolactone. A dermatologist will help you. ...Read more

Options include silicone gel, silicone sheeting, use of filler (for spot or crater-like scars), laser therapy, hydroquinone, dermabrasion, or kenalog (triamcinolone) injection, or surgical scar revision. Various ways: First, make sure your acne is being treated so as to not produce new scars! Red or brown marks can be faded with lasers and/or topical fading creams. Many depressed acne scars can improve with laser treatments (such as ablative or non ablative fractional resurfacing treatments). Deep scars may need to be untethered (subcision) or actually cut out (excised). ...Read more
A dermatologist: One's primary care doctor can refer to a dermatologist, who can examine the old scars to see what can be done. Some techniques include chemical peels to smooth out tiny defects, dermabrasion to sand the skin to become more even, and injecting fillers into some spots. Different dermatologists may use different methods, so it is fine to get opinions from two dermatologists. ...Read more
Can't remove scars: I'm sorry you have scarring from neglected acne. It shouldn't have happened, but it did and you can prevent further scarring by getting with your physician -- you will most likely need a systemic rx, either Isotretinoin or an antibiotic. A dermatologist can manage the scars when your acne is successfully treated. Best wishes. ...Read more
You can't: Stretch marks are tears in the skin from below. Many things have been tried, creams, lotions, lasers and none of them have shown long term improvement. Acne scars can removed and converted from a round depressed scar to a straight line scar if that would be an improvement. There is no such thing as scar removal just scar improvement. ...Read more
Scientific Rx: If two weeks on over-the-counter benzoyl peroxide doesn't clear you, get with your physician. You may be a rx for a topical retinoic acid derivative, the oral contraceptive pill (if you're female), topical clindamycin, a systemic antibiotic such as tetracycline, or a dermatology referral for possible Isotretinoin / scar revision. Acne is not a hygiene or lifestyle problem. We can help. ...Read more
